Usborne Books and More

On Monday I didn't have any pictures that I had taken from regionals because of my stupid phone. So, Instead of updating my last post, I decided to just share with you guys a little bit about my other job that I LOVE!! I have always been a HUGE reader!! I read pretty much anything (proved by the dumb classical novel I read haha). I am very very good at ignoring people when I get into my books and it has always driven people nuts that I can block them out so well!!

All of this would of course be why I am such a HUGE supporter of Literacy! I think that it is very important for all children to have access to books!! It helps them in school, with their imagination, and it can show them so many things!! Of course when I heard about Usborne books I had to jump at the opportunity to sell amazing books for kids to read!

I had an experience last year with a Mary Kay consultant and it broke my heart for her children. She was trying to get me to join their team and was doing everything she could do to get me to join. While she was talking to me there were a couple things that stuck out:
      1. She could NOT for the life of her remember my company's name and had to keep asking me. If you are trying to convince someone, maybe you should have enough respect to remember details they have told you 5 times.
      2. She kept telling me that people will always need make up and that is why their company is a better choice. She told me that she had purchased a set of books for her children and they only read them once. She said that they now were used as writing tables and she will never buy any more books for them.

The second one made me feel really bad. I think it is very important to read to your kids!! They learn how to sit still longer and they learn to enjoy it! I'm not saying that I read to my kids every night (it's on my list to do), but I used to and Liam used to look forward to it EVERY night. He never let me skip, until I started to get to busy. That is going to change and starting Monday I will be reading with my boys nightly!!

So, all in all, I believe in books and how they help our children's minds to grow!! I am filling up my calendar for February if you would like to host a show! If you would like more information on the company or would ever consider joining me to Promote Literacy, just shoot me a text or give me a call!!

I love my company and I LOVE what we represent!!!

This is the CEO of Usborne Books!

I completely agree with the cover of our NEW catalog!

Keep on keeping on

This last week has been fun.. and crazy all into one. I have missed my best friend who has been in Texas seeing her Hubby! I have been trying to keep busy and it has definitely been working. I feel like I am never sitting down these days!! I baby sat my nephew Oliver and my niece Kodie this weekend and that just confirmed that I don't want another baby haha. Maybe when we adopt I will aim for the age 3-5!

# 7- PROGRESS: This month I am having a Craft/DIY night for any girls that would like to join! Let me know and I can give you the address to where we are doing it!!

# 32- PROGRESS: In 2 weeks I will be going to the first showing of 50 Shades of Grey!! I am so excited.. It isn't a midnight showing but I am counting it since when I made that goal it was all for this movie. Little did I know they would have an 8 pm showing the day before it comes out :)

# 39- I don't even know what to label this one because I tried to donate plasma and they wouldn't let me due to my medical history. I may be able to do just blood but I will have to find out. This one may be a no go which makes me sad. When they told me that they thought it would be safer if I didn't donate I started crying. All I want to do is help sick people and it isn't working. Someone told me that I could do something different than donate blood and I may have to go that route but it still makes me sad that because of my CAD in 2009 and even with a doctors note they won't let me donate.

# 43- COMPLETED: I haven't had any soda for a month now!! My body feels healthier for it and I am starting to actually not mind water which is amazing for me. It's all that I drink these days!

# 52- PROGRESS: This last Wednesday I had my second Love and Logic class. It went well and although I failed my homework (taking anger out of things), I still feel that I am trying to change. I only yelled a couple times this weekend lol. We learned about the difference between showing Empathy and Sympathy when punishing. I'm hoping that this will help me not be an angry parent because I hate being that way and I often will go to bed crying because I feel like an aweful parent. Hopefully this will help me change that feeling.

# 84- COMPLETED: This weekend I attended my first Usborne Regional training. For those of you who don't know what Usborne is, we sell amazing books!! We learned about how to grow our business and I got to listen to my Upline do an amazing speach! I just love her and I want to be as successful as she is! I got to meet the CEO of the company and he was so nice! I am ready to work my butt off for this company because I believe that every child should have the opportunity to read and have access to books!! I may be doing a book drive soon!

That's all of it! Sorry for the lack of pictures, unfortunately my phone had a melt down and I have to go get the pictures switched when I have a new phone... Pictures to come later! If you are interested in hosting a book party with Usborne please give me a call and I may even offer a discount for you for reading my blog :)

Some more Progress :)

# 12- PROGRESS: I worked out five days last week! It was exhausting and some nights I was up until 11 finishing the workout but I did it!! The result?... Fitting into my new pair of red scrubs for work!! Today is the first day that I have worn them!

# 39- PROGRESS: So, this last weekend I tried to donate plasma.. Due to what happened with my chest pain in 2009 they have to send a letter to their doctor to find out if they think I'm okay to donate and if they do I may still have to get a doctors note from my doctor. I wish that I didn't have to deal with all my medical crap because it may effect me being able to donate and I hate that!!!

# 56- PROGRESS: I got my nails done again because they had grown out a bunch. I went with a bolder color this time and I think I like it. I really am wanting to ask them to do a cool design but I'm not sure they can. Who knows. Maybe I will just have my friend Kelsey do them :)

# 62 PROGRESS: I have the drawing for my next tattoo. I am so excited about it and I think the guy did awesome! I can't wait until I can schedule the appointment and have it done.

Well, that is all that I have been up to for the last week. I have my next parenting class this week so I will let you know how that one goes!!

Making a Difference!

I have been obsessively working on my list. It makes me feel bad for Justin because I feel like I'm never home these days! Always working on something to complete on my list! Hopefully it will all start to slow down here soon so that I don't feel like a horrible wife/mother.

# 12- PROGRESS: I have been working out for two weeks, I just haven't managed to do it for five days yet! This week will hopefully get me going on it!

# 43- PROGRESS: I have not had any soda now for about three weeks!! I have been doing amazing on my water intake or drinking milk or whatever is not soda!!

# 52- PROGRESS: Tomorrow I start a parenting class that goes for six weeks. My aunt Kristen is teaching it and I hope that it will help me to work with my boys a little bit better.

# 65- PROGRESS: I have been drinking anywhere between 100 and 120 ounces of water a day for about 3 weeks. I will have to screen shot my Fitbit to show my water intake when i have done it for a month!

# 70- PROGRESS: I had my car detailed on 1/19/15 and it looks AMAZING! I can't belive I waited this long to have it done! I just had it done at my dealership but I'm so glad that I finally did it!

# 81- PROGRESS: Last night was my first date with Shaun T doing Rockin Body!! It was only a 15 minute workout but it had me sweating by the end!! I will be doing this for a month and finising the program!

Those are all of the ones I have to report on right now! I have decided that I will blog every Monday on my progress with my goals! Have a good week friends :)

More Accomplishments!!

Well, I have been doing pretty good at working on my list! It has been a lot of effort for somethings (reading a classic novel) and not on some others. Here are more that I have completed!!!

#83- FINALLY COMPLETED!!!!: I have finished Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. My goodness was that a very hard read for me!! I had the hardest time with the way it was written and understanding it!! Last night I had about 50 pages left at 10:30... I decided to stay up because I did NOT want to read it anymore!! I loved the story of it but the writing was so hard. Needless to say, I don't plan on reading another Classic novel for a LOOOOONG time!

#97- COMPLETED: This last Friday 1/9/89 was my 26th Birthday! I had a great day at work with co-workers that bought me breakfast and made me cookies!! Then, I went to the gym with Emily so that I wouldn't feel as horrible eating so crappy that night!!! We made homemade pizza, drank, ate junk food, played games, and I had a sleep over with Emily!! It was such a fun night and I am so glad that I had friends that came to spend the night with me!

#12- PROGRESS: I have so far this week gone to the gym three days!! Two more days and I am on my way to going to the gym five days a week for a month!! It has been pretty difficult for me but I am starting to feel amazing! I have so much more energy and I am feeling better about myself!! Hopefully my picture at the end of a month will look different than this one!

#43- PROGRESS: I have not had soda in about a week and a half so far!! I am drinking a ton of water a day and I'm not even craving the soda anymore!!

#56- PROGRESS: Yesterday I went and got a manicure. My fingers actually hurt from how brutal they were on my cuticles!! But I know that it is going to help me in the long run!

#62- PROGRESS: I have finally decided on what I want to get for my next tattoo... I think haha. I'll post a picture below. I'm not sure where I will put it yet but I'm excited!!!

#70- PROGRESS: I have an appointment on Monday to have my car detailed. The boys spilled something in my car and now the floor is all sticky... oh the joy of kids haha.

I think that is it for now :) I'm working my way through my list!! Maybe I can start thinking of things to put on my next list!!!

The first couple completed goals!!!

I think that I have done pretty good so far!! I feel like I still have a long way to go but I can do it!! Here is where I am with my progress:

#22- COMPLETED: I found out through my neighborhood's webpage that there is a book club!! Tonight was my first time going and all of the ladies were very sweet and welcoming!! We read the book The Giver. I had seen the movie before I read it and I preferred the book to the movie. There were quite a few changes between the two. The book is about a community that has a set of rules that they must follow and a group called the elders makes all the decisions about where everyones life will go. There is a boy who becomes the new receiver and he starts to view the world differently. I really enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to the new book that we are going to be reading!

#80- COMPLETED: I went and talked with my cousin Fabien about starting Herbalife again!! I have started as of this Tuesday and I am so excited about it!! I have gone to the gym twice this week already and I go weigh in again in about a week and a half to see if things have changed. According to the scale when I weighed on Monday, my body thinks it is 50 years old... That is double my current age and hopefully this will change shortly!! I have been doing very well on my water intake also!!

#90- COMPLETED: I have finished putting addresses into my address book that I have been meaning to write down for a while now! I love my little address book and plan on keeping it in my purse at all times!!!

#21- PROGRESS: I have been writing in my journal nightly! It has been pretty good for me mentally. I have figured out that it is pretty nice to write down what you are thinking daily and actually think about it. I am loving it so far and of course, I plan on continuing it!!

#83- PROGRESS: I am still working my way through Northanger Abbey. It has been a difficult read for me. I finished The Giver in one day but this one is kicking my butt. It has been a week and I am only half way through the book. I am liking the story, there are just sometimes when the words go right over my head. Hopefully I will finish it this next week!!

Well, there you have it!! This is what I have been working on so far. I will cross off something else on my check list tomorrow night, but you will just have to wait to find out what it is :)
